HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin)

Overview

HCG is a glycoprotein hormone produced during pregnancy. Used clinically for fertility, maintaining testicular function during TRT, and historically in weight loss protocols.

Mechanism of Action

• LH mimicry — Binds LH receptors on testicular Leydig cells
• Testosterone stimulation — Maintains endogenous testosterone production
• Fertility preservation — Prevents testicular atrophy during exogenous testosterone use
• Ovulation induction — Triggers ovulation in fertility treatments

Dosing

For TRT adjunct: 250-500 IU subcutaneously 2x weekly. For fertility: varies by protocol.
