Growth HormoneSubcutaneous injection200-500mcg daily at bedtime

Overview

Sermorelin acetate is a synthetic 29-amino acid peptide corresponding to the biologically active N-terminal segment of endogenous GHRH. Originally FDA-approved as Geref for diagnosing GH deficiency, now widely prescribed in functional medicine.

Mechanism of Action

  • GHRH receptor agonism — Stimulates pituitary somatotrophs to release GH
  • Physiologic pulsatility — Preserves natural GH feedback mechanisms
  • IGF-1 elevation — Indirectly increases IGF-1 via GH stimulation
  • Feedback preserved — Unlike exogenous GH, somatostatin still regulates release

Dosing Protocols

| Protocol | Dose | Frequency | Route | |----------|------|-----------|-------| | Standard | 200-300mcg | Nightly at bedtime | Subcutaneous | | Optimized | 500mcg | Nightly | Subcutaneous | | Diagnostic | 1mcg/kg | Single dose | IV |
